What is a Chemical Peel for Acne?

AHA is also abundant in various sources. Check with your dermatologist/clinician first to determine your skin sensitivity level.
* Lactic Acid – This is the AHA (see above) and is the milder form of the Hydroxy Acid group. A common source of lactic acid is sour milk. One of the remnants of acne is flaky skin. Lactic acid peel helps to remove the flaky layer of the skin and rejuvinates and renews the skin.
* Citric Acid – This is another form of AHA (see above). Source of citric acid includes orange and lemon juices. This is a very natural approach to chemical peel treatment.
* Jessner’s Peel – If you have severe acne spots, you may want to take a look at the Jessner’s peel method. This chemical peel treatment uses ingredients such as salicylic acid, resorcinol, ethanol, and lactic acid. With this much ingredients, there is no need to worry about over-peeling.
